The Challenge: The company needed to hire an experienced sales professional from the residential construction industry. It was important that this person have connections with home builders and Directors of Construction in the Tennessee and Alabama markets.

What Set this Search Apart: This was our third search for the client, but the first field position that was outside of their corporate office in Houston. All interviews were done in person. As part of the interview process, candidates’ second interviews were spent out in the field with the sales executive. This gave candidates a better understanding of the product and the sales process.

The Approach: We looked for sales professionals with experience and connections in residential construction. The territory was Nashville, Chattanooga and Huntsville, so we focused on candidates residing within that triangular area. We specifically looked for candidates that were involved in the earlier stages of the building process such as insulation, plumbing fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, energy and inspection.

The Results: Risch Results recruited an Army veteran with 15 years of sales experience. The candidate was most recently selling marble, quartz and granite countertops into the residential construction industry. He knew the client’s market and had existing home builder connections.
